Welding Fume Extraction
Climavent have been supplying welding fume extraction systems throughout the UK for over 25years. Our aim when assessing the clients requirements is to protect the operators breathing zone by providing the extraction at source.
This is normally achieved by utilising our articulated extraction arms which can be supplied as part of a multi operator centralised system or individually with mobile units or wall mounted fans and filtration units.
Our High Vacuum Welding Fume Extraction Systems are designed to provide powerful suction through small bore hoses and are available with a standard range of arms, booms and magnetic nozzles which are suitable for most applications. They are also compatible with all makes of welding torches with integral extraction facility.

Fume Extraction
Climavent supply and install Fume Extraction Systems to handle the obnoxious fumes and odours generated in universities, printing, pharmaceutical and chemical industries.
Systems vary in size from single positions in a laboratory to multi point extraction for production lines.

The 900 series fume extraction units have been designed for welding and process fume extraction applications.
The units are constructed from powder coated carbon steel and supplied with centrifugal fan and articulated extraction arms. They can be supplied with a variety of filter elements which include cylindrical cartridge, HEPA and carbon.

Dust Extraction

In metal working and engineering our systems are used extensively to remove grinding dust, linishing dust, oil mist and polishing dust.
We are often called upon to advise and provide specialist equipment to deal with explosive environments. Materials such as GRP, aluminium, titanium, flour, and numerous chemical powders can present such hazards and require individual solutions designed to deal with the specific circumstances.

Down Draft Benches
Climavent Down Draught Benches are of extremely robust construction and have been designed for sanding, grinding and finishing applications.
Compact Benches with Integral Fans and Filters
The CB range of benches are available in three standard widths 1.2, 1.5 and 1.9metres and are supplied with integral fans, filters, variable speed controllers and plastic matting top to prevent damage to the workpiece. Airborne dust is sucked into the top of the bench and captured in deep pleated filter elements, allowing cleaned air to be recirculated back into the workshop. A range of options are also available such as full height canopies, low level back and side shields and fluorescent lighting.
Down Draught Benches for heavy duty grinding and fettling applications
Our DD range of down draught benches have been designed specifically for the grinding and fettling of carbon steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminium and titanium. They are available in three standard widths 1.2, 1.5 and 1.8metres and are supplied with full height sides and canopy top with integral lighting. Exhaust from the bench is provided by our LW22 Wet Dust Extraction Unit which, being water filled is completely safe from the fire hazard associated with the above processes.

Low Profile Dust Control Booths
Climavent Low Profile Booths provide protection for both the operator and the working environment by extracting the light airborne dusts generated by sanding, grinding and trimming processes.
The booths are available in three standard widths 1.8, 2.4 or 3.6metres and are only 1.2metres high which ensures that the operator can only work on the clean side of the booth. They are supplied with integral lighting and recessed tops to allow clearance for the overhead lifting of large workpieces.
Large work is normally carried out on the floor whilst intermediate work can be carried out on trestles or purpose built insertable benches.

Enclosed Dust Control Booths
Climavent Enclosed Booths provide protection for the surrounding factory areas and are specified when operators require access to all parts of large workpieces.
The booths are manufactured to customers size requirements and are supplied with full or strip curtains to enable easy access. For excessively noisy applications we offer our sound attenuated booths with double leaf access doors.
All booths are supplied with ductwork connection points at the rear and are available with wet or dry filtration units. Multiple booths can be connected to one centralised extraction unit.

Wet Collectors and Wet Dust Exhaust Units
Wet dust exhaust units are often specified to cope with the heavy burden of flammable dust arising from Grinding, fettling, linishing, polishing and trimming applications.
Wet dust exhaust units draw the dust-laden air through a tank of water. Heavy dust particles are thrown directly into water and settle as sludge in the base of the unit for subsequent removal. Air and light dust are drawn over the surface of the water and scrubbing cups turn the air and entrained water, wetting even the very fine dust particles. A series of baffles removes the wetted dust and clean air is discharged from the top of the unit back into the works atmosphere.
There are no moving parts, no filters and no sprays, which mean that the units are particularly robust and maintain their original suction rates, even under very arduous conditions.
Climavent now manufacture the Lakestyle LW22 Wet Dust Exhaust Unit which can be supplied as a single unit for a down draught bench or as a modular bank of units to provide filtration for large centralised systems.
A common problem with Wet Dust Exhaust units is that the Metal Enclosure and internal components often start to corrode after a short period of service. The LW22 unit has a non corrosive GRP body with stainless steel internal scrubbing components and if serviced on a regular basis will provide many years of efficient extraction.

Extraction Arms
Climavent extraction arms are suitable for extracting all types of hazardous dusts and fumes and can be easily adapted to fixed ductwork systems or mobile extraction units. They are also used to provide forced cooling and ventilation for otherwise inaccessable applications.
In order to avoid internal restriction, the major joint mechanisms are externally mounted. This free passage coupled with the smooth walled construction offers the highest suction capabiltiy with the lowest energy consumption.
Climavent extraction arms are available in 80mm, 100mm and 150mm diameters and lengths of up to 5metres. A complimentary range of sliding rails and extension booms are also available giving a reach of up to 10metres. The arms will rotate through 360º and can be wall or bench mounted.
The arms are constructed from aluminium as standard although stainless steel arms are also available.

High Vacuum Dust/Fume Extraction
Climavent High Vacuum Dust and Fume extraction systems are designed to create a powerful suction through small bore flexible hoses. They are commonly used for welding fume extraction, centralised vacuum cleaning and on tool dust extraction.
The systems consist of high pressure fans, reverse jet cleaning filtration units and hose connection manifolds. The manifolds are positioned at strategic positions throughout the workplace and are connected to the filtration unit by a fixed pipework installation.
Alternatively Mobile High Vacuum Units with a network of flexible hoses and manifolds can also be used. For Welding Fume Extraction we have a standard range of arms, booms and magnetic suction nozzles which are suitable for most applications. They are also compatible with all makes of welding torches with integral extraction facility.
When applied to centralised vacuum cleaning for industrial waste removal and general housekeeping we offer a comprehensive range of vacuum cleaning tools and antistatic hoses. The systems are extensively used for sanding and finishing applications and are compatible with all power tools with integral extraction facilities.

Thermal Spraying Dust Extraction
Climavent have extensive experience in the design, supply and installation of thermal spraying dust extraction systems. They are suitable for cold spray, plasma, arc and flame and high velocity oxyfuel (HVOF) spraying. Aluminum, zinc or chrome spraying are typical applications.
Climavent use a specific filtration system which has been found to be highly effective in filtering the dust and fumes from these processes.
The systems are available with explosive venting, fuel gas and oxygen sensors/alarms, safety door interlocking and sound attenuated booths with clean air inlets.
